I am an Industrial Design Engineering student at the University of Twente in the Netherlands and also am I an origami enthusiast. For my master thesis I’m looking to research origami for uses in other technical fields. I however have difficulty with finding institutes or companies that are clearly interested in researching origami. So far I’ve only found that there is the Advanced Structures Group at the University of Cambridge that does research into the characteristics and application of folding patterns. Is there anyone who has useful contacts at Cambridge and is willing to share these with me? Also I’m open to other ideas for instances that do similar research and would thus be interesting for me to approach.
