Thus spake "Gerardo @neorigami.com" <[email protected]> on 5/20/14 12:11 PM:
>I asked about the name of a method for creating where I take general ideas >from other models and add them up in order to create a new model. ><snip> >I didn't mean designing independent parts of a model and then folding them >together in a paper... >I meant taking general ideas from other models, but not specific parts... >Know what I mean? > >So, does this approach have a name? Should we call it the Frankenstein >method? I would call it "pretty much the way I approach everything I design." To me, every specific technique -- grafting, point-splitting, circle-packing, tree theory, box-pleating, polygon packing, Origamizer, conic section optics, and more, are different cases of "taking general ideas but not specific parts." So maybe "the Ur-method" would be a good name? Robert
