Just read a book you might be interested in if you like things in the fantasy vein. "The Paper Magician" by Charlie Holmberg. Magicians in the world bond to a man made material and the heroine is coerced into bonding with paper.
There are several recognizable folds - the "fortuity box" is foremost. It was pretty good. I got it on my Kindle for not much. Dee
