Hi everyone, this month's email announcing new content is a bit late, as I attended the CDO convention in Italy. It was fantastic to meet so many of you - and for a change get models taught, rather than teaching them. :)
But even though I was at the convention, a new instructional video did go up. This time I demonstrated how to fold a 3D star "Stella Pitti" designed by Francesco Mancini. You can fold it from 8 modules for a slight 3D finish or a completely flat model, or from 7 modules for a much more 3D model. Thanks to Francesco for a fantastic model, as well as his permission to make video instructions. Diagrams are published in his booklet "Mancinerie" ( http://www.happyfolding.com/book-mancini-mancinerie ) and are also available from OrigamiUSA's TheSource: https://origamiusa.org/catalog/products/stella-pitti-pdf Picture: http://www.happyfolding.com/gallery-mancini-stella_pitti Video on happyfolding: http://www.happyfolding.com/instructions-mancini-stella_pitti Video on YouTube: http://youtu.be/2qFfokyPZig I've also published a bunch of other videos since my last email: 1. Time Lapse for "Spread Hexagons" tessellation For some fun, I colored Elephant Hide and folded the "Spread Hexagons" tessellation designed by Eric Gjerde. You can watch the whole process at http://www.happyfolding.com/animation-gjerde-spread_hexagons or http://youtu.be/U8SAK3tdaHI 2. Your Origami Folds In November, Your Origami Folds was all about a bat designed by Fernando Gilgado Gómez (tutorial: http://youtu.be/8MdvHEgMjz8 or http://www.happyfolding.com/instructions-gilgado_gomez-bat ) . Check out the folds at http://www.happyfolding.com/your_origami_folds-november_2014 or http://youtu.be/6rCz2wN6TvM If you'd like to contribute to the series, here are the deadlines for the next two videos: December 14th 2014 for Pelleas Box designed by Peter Keller ( tutorial: http://www.happyfolding.com/instructions-keller-pelleas_box or http://youtu.be/6amPrfROkKo ) January 10th 2015 for Stella Pitti designed by Francesco Mancini Simply submit your photo by sending me an email including a statement that allows me to use that photo in a video. I look forward to seeing your folds! 3. What to Fold In an effort to make you all aware of some of the wonderful online origami resources, I've decided to start another series called "What to Fold". In November I concentrated on Christmas models.
