For the (many) list members who are not USA-based, or might not be members of OrigamiUSA, I thought I'd expand on/explain this and add some news: OrigamiUSA has its home office in the American Museum of Natural History in New York, where every year a volunteer team creates a huge holiday tree. Those interested can read more about it here: http://www.amnh.org/explore/origami-at-the-museum/origami-holiday-tree https://origamiusa.org/holidaytree/ https://origamiusa.org/holidaytree/2014 Yesterday there was a fire at the Museum, but all is well! Here's a note from Patty Grodner detailing OrigamiUSA's interaction with the fire: >>> All is fine with the OrigamiUSA Home Office, storage area and the Holiday Tree. No one was hurt. The Holiday Tree is right outside the room that had the smoke condition. And the firemen used fans to blow out the smoke out of the museum, so we might not know for sure if the models on the tree were affected by the smoke until we take them down-- but at the moment, all looks fine. When the alarm sounded to evacuate, we were in the middle of a small holiday party in the office for the volunteers who do office work and teach at the Teaching Tables near the tree. Andrea (our admin) and several volunteers waited outside to be let back in to get their coats and clean up from the aborted party.
