Ilan, I love your idea! I think a major barrier for someone to attend a convention is the cost of lodging. I have offered my extra bed to some fellow origamists because I want to see them at the next PCOC convention and not have to worry about hotel. I personally have no problem with hosting someone for more than 2 nights. :)
