As I understand it, different types of folds were named because origamists
recognized they were very common among different models. That's the case of
-for example- the rabbit ear fold, the petal fold, and the inside and
outside reverse folds to name a few.

Besides those, there are two other types of folds that I consider quite
common but have not seen them with a name before. I consider very helpful
to give them both names for the origami community to use. I think a
standardized name for both could make it easier for people to recognize
both folds when folding a model, and also, include them in their creative
repertory when designing a new model. Know what I mean? Yet I don't really
know how to go about it.

How would you do it? I mean: give them names in a way that a good part of
the origami community is aware of them but also accepts and uses them.
With who would you talk? Where would you explain both folds? How would you
make the whole effort "more real"?, if you know what I mean.

I have no idea... that's why I was hoping to read your ideas.
