Hi everyone, as always, here's my monthly overview of new origami content from my side.
1. My upload schedule Before I announce all the other content, I also recorded a video giving a quick overview of the types of videos I post and when in video form: Video on happyfolding: http://www.happyfolding.com/vlog-my_upload_schedule Video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Z7GsqvnMUfA To sum things up: usually a new video every Saturday On the 1st Saturday of each month: a tutorial On the 2nd Saturday of each month: What to Fold On the 3rd Saturday of each month: Your Origami Folds On the remaining Saturdays: whatever I feel like posting 2. New tutorials Straying from my upload schedule right away, I posted an additional tutorial yesterday (Friday!), namely the Hydrangea with Leaves, Mennakshi Mukerji's color-change variant of the hydrangea designed by Shuzo Fujimoto. I immediately fell in love with the idea when Meenakshi posted about it in her April update, and so this extra video came about. Thanks to Meenakshi for a wonderful idea and her permission to present it in a video! And isn't Mother's Day just around the corner in many countries of the world? :) Today's new tutorial introduces Ekaterina Lukasheva's wonderful "Coral Star". I absolutely fell in love with the color-change effect, in particular the color peeking out of the tubes of this kusudama. Thanks to Kate for another stunning modular, as well as her permission to present it to you! Your Origami Folds April 2015 In March/April I had the pleasure of receiving many stunning photos of your folds of Shuzo Fujimoto's hydrangea and designs that incorporate it prominently (e.g. Dasa's hydrangea ribbon box, tilings, ...). Now you can see them, too! Video on happyfolding: http://www.happyfolding.com/your_origami_folds-2015_04 Video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/TPkX3KY4TO4 Tutorial for the hydrangea: http://www.happyfolding.com/instructions-fujimoto-hydrangea or https://youtu.be/zu5F0Hmd3ZA Tutorial for the hydrangea ribbon box: http://www.happyfolding.com/instructions-severova_fujimoto-hydrangea_ribbon_box or https://youtu.be/ApXy9QB6oeU If you'd like to contribute to the series, too, here are the deadlines for the next two videos: May 9th 2015 for the duck designed by jassu ( http://www.happyfolding.com/instructions-jassu-duck or https://youtu.be/boxbMl8lDBc ) June 13th 2015 for the Coral Star designed by Kate Lukasheva Simply submit your photo by sending me an email including a statement that allows me to use that photo in a video. I look forward to seeing your folds! 4. What to Fold April 2015 Spring's arrived and with that wedding season's started, too. So in April I suggested five bride and groom models, as well as five rings. They'll make great add-ons for wedding gifts or perhaps even decorations for your own wedding! Video on happyfolding: http://www.happyfolding.com/what_to_fold-2015_04 Video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/2Kcj1BKYCu0 Also, as a sneak peek: next Saturday I'll post the next "What to Fold" video. As Mother's Day is celebrated in many parts of the world next Sunday, I'll suggest some flower models. So if you're not subscribed to my YouTube channel and you'd like some extra inspiration just before the day, watch out for that video. :) 5. Paper Review Ilan Garibi and Gadi Vishne have completed another of their fantastic paper reviews. This time it's all about the Japanese paper Roma Stone aka French Marble. Review on happyfolding: http://www.happyfolding.com/paper-review_roma_stone Review on OrigamiUSA: https://origamiusa.org/thefold/article/paper-review-25-roma-stone And if you're a member of the BOS, it's also in the most recent issue of the BOS mag! All the best and happy folding, -- Sara
