Hi everyone,

first of all, a happy 4th of July to all American's out there - and a happy
Saturday for everyone in general. :)

1. OrigamiUSA convention
This is my first email after the OrigamiUSA Convention 2015. I had such a
great time!
And, yes, I did record some material while in NY, some of it's already
online, more will come. A convention review, which I wrote on my flight
back to Germany, is also on its way.
For now, though, here's the content that's online already:

1.1 NYC Paper Shops Tour
As one of my sightseeing activities Jenny Chan (from http://origamitree.com/
) and me did a tour through NY visiting eight different paper shops. You
can join us here:

We had lots of fun, and we hope you enjoy the tour, too!

1.2 Tutorials: Cat and pup by Anita Barbour
And because we were a bit early and had to wait for the first shop to open,
we also recorded two tutorials while sitting in Bryant Park. :)

Jenny showed me how to fold the Halloween Cat designed by Anita Barbour:

And I showed her how to fold the Postcard Pup, also by Anita Barbour:

Special thanks goes to Anita for the great models as well as her permission
to present them in these tutorials. And for more of her work, check out
these diagrams: http://www.happyfolding.com/diagrams?designer=106 (118 of
them, and more will be added later on this year!)

1.3 Interview with Leyla Torres
Leyla Torres from http://www.origamispirit.com/ and me sat down to chat,
and of course the camera was rolling. :) Here's a video of part of the
conversation we had about origami:

2. Another tutorial: "Rotating Tetrehedron" by Tomoko Fuse

During the convention I of course also led some workshops. As I promised
there, I'll be making video tutorials for all of them. The first one is a
video for an enjoyable action model by Tomoko Fuse: a modular rotating
tetrahedron, or if you like, a 3D flexagon.
It's a fun and easy fold and one of my favorites when teaching children.
It's just as fun to fold for adults, of course. :)

My gratitude goes to Tomoko Fuse for all of her fantastic creations as well
as her permission for me to present her work in videos for you!

3. Your Origami Folds June 2015
In May/June Your Origami Folds was all about the "Coral Star" designed by
Ekaterina Lukasheva.

If you'd like to contribute to the series, too, here are the deadlines for
the next two videos:

molecule by Robin Scholz -- combine it with other patterns as you like! (

 )
August 8th 2015 for the Rotating Tetrahedron by Tomoko Fuse

Simply submit your photo by sending me an email including a statement that
allows me to use that photo in a video. I look forward to seeing your folds!

3. What to Fold June 2015
Last month was all about tessellations, so in "What To Fold June 2015" I
suggested videos that show you how to fold different, stunning patterns.
And aren't the summer nights the best time to fold tessellations?

email with your suggestion!

All the best and happy folding,
