Dear Origami friends, How are you doing? The upcoming Origami Talk will be the last session of Origami Talk on 2020. I will definitely miss seeing you during the session and bringing you the show.
Back to the upcoming origami Talk! I am so excited to announce that our special guest is *Darryl Bedford. *He will be going to show us his AMAZING living breathing creatures! So don't miss out the session! Darryl has organized for two British Sign Language interpreters to provide access during the session. So the session will be Interpreted live with British Sign Language [image: image.png] *Registration:* You can register for the event at: www.origamitalk.org The session will be held on Zoom *When?* *Sunday, Dec 13* *9am PT | 12pm ET | 5pm GMT * About the artist: Darryl is an Australian ceramicist and digital artist, living in London. He divides his time teaching art and technology to Deaf teenagers and designing intricate paper sculptures in his home studio. He describes himself as an introverted extravert and is fascinated with art and performance. His computer designed, and mechanically cut and scored creations never cease to surprise and delight as they are manipulated into multiple forms. Darryl is relatively new to this artform, however, he has created a large body of kinetic paper sculptures that blur the line between origami and kirigami. His creative journey is documented on Instagram: @vectoriseart. Darryl is interested in the link between his instagram audience and the subtle and sometimes overt ways this affects his creative decision making. He has pioneered and named several new origami techniques, including “skeletal” and “drawstring” origami. He is keen to encourage others to fold and strongly believes in origami as a mindful activity and as a therapy. Check our Darryl's instagram at https://www.instagram.com/vectoriseart/?hl=en In this session: Live from his London home studio, Darryl will outline his creative journey which began with investigation into 18th century Origami magic tricks and the discovery of a digital paper cutter. A roaming camera will reveal a treasure trove of paper forms and reveal the effects of a paper addiction on living space. He will demonstrate his vector design workflow and demonstrate his “Creative play” approach to design development. He will demonstrate many fluid creations… and pose the question, “How many paper baubles does one need?” This session will be packed with demonstrations and paper transformations… Including the world’s largest inflatable origami sea cucumber. *Please Support Origami Talk* Organizing Origami Talk is a huge load of work.
