Regarding this discussion, two things from my memory come to mind. First is many years ago a small paragraph in the Origamian quoted Sam Randlett who indicated that simple models were bound to be discovered again and again. Then when I was BOS magazine editor I was sent an identical 2D model from two different parts of the world, a star with many points radiating from the centre. Joan
