I learned a George Rhoads elephant 5 or so years ago at the BOS Autumn meeting.

One of his kinetic sculptures is, or was, in the north building of the Port 
Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd Street in NYC.  Last I saw it, it was in need of 
some restoration work but some parts were still working away.
