The art of Origami by Samuel Randlett, 1961, has a Brontosaurus and a 
Stegosaurus pp. 157-159. Probably his own design, or maybe Jean Randlette, as 
the designer is not mentioned, and the other models list the designer.

I guess we will find earlier designs, 1961 is only one year earlier than your 
source.
