Subject: [Origami] Archival box

I found this type of box. Plastic! Please forgive me if I’m asking a
heresy but wouldn’t accomplish the same purpose, which is to save models
from dust? They should be acid-free, right? Or not? They seem sturdier than
acid-free cardboard boxes.

Plasticizers are typically added to make rigid PVC flexible. These can leave or
outgas from PVC over time. I would not consider it archival if that is a real
consideration. It may be fine for protecting from dust.

Thanks,

Doug
