I wanted to tell you about two films that include origami as a recurring
element.

The first one is from Bogotá, Colombia. It's titled *Wandering Shadows* (2004)
and is the opera prima of Ciro Guerra, his directorial debut. Ciro Guerra
is also the director of the only Colombian movie to earn an Academy
award, *Embrace
of the Serpent*. The main character of the film practices origami!

I don't know if that's an authorized version of the film on YouTube. So
sorry for sharing it with you, if that is the case.

The other one is *Don't Let the Night End* (2019) coincidentally it's an
opera prima as well. In this case, Galia Barkol's who also stars in the
movie. Barkol is from Israel, but her film takes place in New York City.
The main character of this film also practices origami, but that might be
the only thing both stories have in common. They are quite different!

The studio uploaded the movie so you can watch it cost-free, but not in HD,
and YouTube ads will be popping up quite often.

Buy or rent the movie (available only in certain countries):

Sok Song, Vanessa Gould (Between the Folds), and Taro's Origami
Studio–particularly Justin West–helped as origami consultants for the film.
I do wonder who helped with the origami in *Wandering Shadows* 🤷.

One other thing, I actually mentioned Barkol's movie through the O-list. I
sent an email on February 18, 2019, with the subject: Mia (film). That was
its working title.

Enjoy!
