Dear Laura,

Perhaps you are thinking of so-called stone- or mineral-paper.

It is frequently printed and sold in rolls as gift wrap. Paper Source is one such purveyor among many. Aitoh sells it already cut into 150mm squares along with their line of origami paper.

For my level of preference for sharp creases, mineral-paper doesn’t hold folds anywhere as nicely as Kami, but it is worthwhile experimenting with it.

And, for a while at least, the folded models look nice and crisp displayed outside in the snow (Colorado or otherwise).

Greetings from Denver,

Mark

You can buy rolls of paper meant to seal the back of framed artwork.  I’ve gotten both white and black from Amazon. I can’t find the links at the moment but I bought it a few years ago.

I am trying to find a type of “paper" that is similar to Tyvek but has white on both sides, no letters inscribed. It should behave as paper, not fabric. I looked on Amazon and elsewhere but can't find anything that resembles what I’m looking for, although I know it exists for things like paper wallets and bags. One should be able to print on its surface using latex inks. Do you know if that kind of paper has a specific name and where to buy it?
