We are
indeed in the process of getting JProbe. Is OptimizeIt better than JProbe? I
have seen a lot of companies using JProbe. Our solution is 100% Java written,
using JDBC. No JNI or what not. However, the program I am using to make a java
program a service is an exe, native to Windows. So I am not sure if that program
was having problems. Today, we decided to run it on Win2K and JDK 1.3, and thus
far we are having no problems. So I am quite sure it was NT4 with SP6..which I
heard from others that they had problems too. Maybe MS was just anti-Java in
that release! ;)
As for
why the JVM doesn't handle 10,000 station objects..I have no idea. I really
think we need JProbe or OptimizeIt to figure this one out. However, the
Orion-Interest list isn't the place to discuss this, so I wont go off on that
topic here. ;)
