If your referring to the number in the JOnAS news section that is somewhat
misleading. It looks like really a hit count on the file. If that is the
case this doesn't really say much. It could be college
students/hobbyists/etc. wanting to get a free server to fool around with or
may be orgs. This also doesn't say that it was not the same person
downloading multiple times (to different machines for example). I would be
more interested in seeing commercial/non-commercial real world deployment
stats. How many sites use JOnAS? Also I wouldn't mind seeing performance
metrics compared with Orion or other baseline app servers (Weblogic).
JOnAS's big favor is that it has community support and is open source. I,
for one, am pleased with the community support available with Orion and
don't really need/want an open source app server for more than intellectual
curiosity. This is a little off topic but does anyone have metrics
comparing Orion and JOnAS in terms of real world performance (not "hello
world" type apps)?
Cheers,
Amir

Subject: How many Orion downloads are there
I am curious about how many Orion downloads there are. My curiosity was
prompted when Jonas (http://www.evidian.com/jonas/index.htm) claims more
then 22, 000 downloads. Is there a comparable figure for the Orion server?
