Are these direct calls, between intra-container EJB's,
specific to Orion? If so, how are conflicting settings
for transactions etc., for the communicating beans
resolved?

I entered this as bug #185 back in November. Nothing
has
been resolved yet. This isn't a huge issue
since the workaround
is simple: use ejb's for everything. this
isn't as slow as it
sounds since intra-container ejb method calls
are direct and
do not use rmi.
