What type of connection that you are used;JDBC
connection or DataSource connection to
communicate with oracle database ?
If you try to used DataSource connection with oracle
8.0.5.2, probbly it will not work.Although you used
Oracle 8.1.7 JDBC Driver but Oracle 8.0.5.2 doesn't
support this features. But you still can communication
you application using JDBC connection to Database
instead you had to used DataSource connection.
Please ask oracle support for more specific...
