1.5.3 was just the previous version and now they have moved on to 1.5.4 - with SIGNIFICANT updates. 1.5.3 was just a bug-fix release to the 1.5.2 "stable" release. 1.5.4 is (to me) quite a bit of a change from any previous version and will be the starting point for future stable releases. Once 1.5.4 is in its current mode for a while and if there are no major bugs, it will likely become a so-called stable release.
