When I brought this topic up during the call the other day it was not
my intension that we should expand our support to other compilers for
some of our core packages. I was simply suggesting that for convience
sake throw things like the altered lam spec file I made up (that currently
builds lam using the icc-7.X compiler) in an unsupported "extras"
directory. These extras directories could inculde a "no support, use at
your own risk" disclaimer but the little things that might go there
would possibly make our users OSCAR experience a little more full featured.
This was the same sort of thing I was trying to suggest a few months
ago with respect to the little h2n nameserver config tool. Just including
it with OSCAR "in case" some of our users wanted a simple means of quickly
configuring a nameserver for their internal network.
