If I remember the nature of the Ganglia multi-distro issue correctly, I think being able to have rpmlists per distro will be helpful. At the last meeting, we resolved to add this support in config.xml. So maybe the config.xml change should be added first?

Please, if you would like me to explain ALL the changes I make to get ganglia
to function well in the OSCAR environment, particularly with respect to the
multi-distro support we do, feel free to sit down and listen for an hour or
so some time. Without ALL of these changes there is NO way you could just simply
drop a set of ganglia rpms into OSCAR and expect them to work.
