Greetings,

Has this problem been resolved? I'm finding the exact same
behavior on my installation. The difference is that I have
IBM xSeries 345 machines. Oscar version 2.2.1, RedHat 7.3.

The nodes do the first PXE network boot and initialize the
hard disk drive with no indications of any errors. Then when
the clients try to boot from the disk drive they get mptscsi.o
missing symbols messages. Then "Kernel panic: no init found."

Now the only driver that I had to install on the RedHat
distribution was ethernet drivers for the dual gigabit ethernet
ports on the motherboard. But the ethernet drivers that got
included with the oscar 2.2.1 distribution are working fine
on the network boot.

What it looks like is that the default disk boot kernel is
either missing some drivers that the network boot kernel has
or it includes drivers that cause conflicts. I'm definately
not a kernel guru and do not know how to track this one down.

Thanks,

Frank Shelly
