Summary: Ganglia broken on MDK 8.2?

Initial Comment:
Setup:
- vmware
- MDK 8.2
- OSCAR 2.0b3

Ganglia appears to install ok on MDK 8.2. However,
when browsing to http://localhost/ganlia/, the
following message is displayed in the browser (and
nothing else):

-----
There was an error collecting gmetad data: fsockopen
error: Connection refused
-----

This does *not* happen on RH 7.2/7.3 on vmware.

Running "ganglia cpu_system" on the command line seems
to return correct results (i.e., results from server
node and both my client nodes), but the web page still
displays this error (even with a forced reload of the
page).

Restarting the httpd and the gmond (both on the server
and client nodes) seems to have no effect -- the error
happens consistently.

No obvious errors are appearing in the httpd error logs
or the syslog.

Since ganglia is not included with OSCAR, should we remove
it from the OSCAR tracker?

Is there a "real" Mandrake system somewhere that I can check
this problem out on?
