Short version: yes and no. One machine worked fine (although there were
some intermittent warnings in the output). On another machine, yes, I
went and manually deleted that .new.python2-2 file, and did a "cvs up",
and that managed to complete.
Longer version:
Actually, I got a slightly different error:
-----
[snipped]
U oscar-new/packages/c3/RPMS/python2-2.1.1-1.i386.rpm
cvs checkout: inflate: oversubscribed dynamic bit lengths tree
cvs [checkout aborted]: reading from server: Input/output error
-----
I've never seen that one before. So I cd'ed into the tree and did "cvs
up" to try to finish it:
-----
[snipped]
cvs server: Updating packages/c3/SRPMS
cvs update: inflate: too many length or distance symbols
cvs [update aborted]: reading from server: Input/output error
-----
Hum. That seems to indicate that there's a problem with CVS's built-in
compression stuff. So I removed the .new.python2-2 file, and did a "cvs
up" again, and after repeating this procedure a few times, it seemed to
work.
I wonder if SF is having some kind of error right now...
