Summary: SuSE 8.2 kernel_picker pre_configure error

Initial Comment:
Is this due to a missing package, or a difference in CLI
between SuSE and the rest?

Looks to me like a problem with doing:

open(IN,"gzip -qdc $Filename |");

Never seen it happen before. It's either gzip, the shell,
or Perl. Ugh. Guess I'll have to do some tests to see
which it is.
