Notes on this tarball:
- Tom will be doing future releases; he's presenting at OLS this week.
- SHA1 sum: deb1bfc9f959bfe94e13d11c74c9538ebd52d555
- MD5 sum: 418311744dc078c875b8e79ae7282b74
- This tarball includes SRPMs, so it's huge. Cope.
- Supported distros: RH 8.0, RH 9
- Untested distros: MDK 9.0, 9.1 -- need testing!
- Still needs work: RH 7.2/IA64 -- will not likely work in this beta
- Unsupported distros: anything that is not listed above (yes, this
specifically means: RH 7.2/IA32, SuSE *, etc.)
- Known issues:
- The version of rpm shipped with RH 8.0 and 9 is broken in some
cases. If rpm hangs when building the client image, the user will
need to kill rpm, rebuild the RPM db, and re-build the client
image. This is not hard, but it is annoying. This has been
documented on the devel list, but not in the OSCAR docs yet. See
