Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Bernard Li (bernardli) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: /etc/hosts file has redudant host entries Initial Comment: The /etc/hosts file in an OSCAR system has 2 sections, the top section seems to have redundant host entries (of slave nodes) after the addition/removal of nodes. Since SystemImager keeps its own entries of nodes (in the bottom section), perhaps it is not necessary to have a top section at all (for the slave nodes) and just use that section to keep user specific host entries? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Donley Parmentier (donpar) Date: 2004-04-16 10:28 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=322626 Bernard, An observation: In fact, if the redundant entries are also in the "hosts" file in the systemimager directory (/var/lib/systemimager/scripts directory, as I recall), the clients cannot find the correct script to execute the Linux loading procedure and the client install crashes. When the redundant entries are removed, everything works fine...
