I had to do the following in the current oscar cvs to get this far:
1) In packages/lam/config.xml, I had to change lam-oscar-module and lam-gm-oscar-module to lam-oscar-modulefile and lam-gm-oscar-modulefile respectively
Yeah, this wasn't caught because of the current state of CVS. Go ahead and commit this.
2) In packages/lam/scripts/setup, I had to change the @good_files grep to accept any file with "lam-" or "libaio" prefixes (the switcher and gm files were being missed).
Cool; go ahead and commit this.
3) In packages/lam/config.xml, I had to temporarily comment out the *gm* files, as there's no libgm.so
I see that there's a dependency in that RPM. [EMAIL PROTECTED] There shouldn't be. I'll fix when CVS is functional.
4) The missing libaio is back, so I added it to oscarsamples/redhat-9-i386.rpmlist along with some of the other files in RH's core+base rpm lists (/cdrom/RedHat/base/comps.xml).
No, the point here is that Depman/update-rpms is supposed to pick this up -- if it needs it. LAM is the first package to exercise this option. Some distros need libaio; others don't (and/or have their own installed already, to which we should not overwrite it).
So the idea is that if a "minimal image" is created, update-rpms can figure out that it needs libaio from either the distro or the LAM package (e.g., if the distro doesn't provide one -- I forget which, but either RH or MDK doesn't provide libaio).
I notice that PackageBest is taking more than two minutes. This should probably be handed off to Depman/Packman; I would expect to knock about 1:30 off.
Also sounds good.
