I've compared the two RHEL3 rpmlist files (after updating the i386
version as I indicated earlier). The actual diff output is listed at
the bottom of this email.

The following are IA32-specific: apmd, lilo

syslinux doesn't belong on the i386 list as it's an OSCAR rpm.
dev86 and mkbootdisk don't belong on the i386 compute nodes.

The following are ia64-specific: elilo

systemimager-server and perl-XML-Simple shouldn't be on the ia64 list
(they're OSCAR-specific)
vim-enhanced doesn't belong on ia64 compute nodes

The remaining, i.e., bind-libs, chkfontpath, redhat-config-keyboard,
laus-libs, ntp, rpm-libs, XFree86-xfs, perl-XML-Parser,
perl-libwww-perl, perl-URI, perl-HTML-Parser, and perl-HTML-Tagset
should be on both platforms.

Recommendations for beta:
1) Modify the i386 list to remove versions on kernel, kernel-smp, and
tzdata
2) Modify the i386 list to remove dev86, mkbootdisk, and syslinux
3) Modify the ia64 list to remove systemimager-server and
perl-XML-Simple
4) Update both lists to include bind-libs, chkfontpath,
redhat-config-keyboard, laus-libs, ntp, rpm-libs, XFree86-xfs,
perl-XML-Parser, perl-libwww-perl, perl-URI, perl-HTML-Parser, and
perl-HTML-Tagset
