The mysql case is understood -- it's needed on all RHEL3 versions.

The tftp-server case less so.  We don't actually use the tftp-server
rpm, in fact, there's code to uninstall it if it's found on the
headnode.

As you know, these won't make it into OSCAR 4.0.

But, what about the other patches you posted to oscar-devel, i.e., the
ones to patch

  packages/base/config.xml
  packages/perl-Qt/config.xml
  packages/switcher/config.xml
  packages/switcher/scripts/setup

Didn't you need to apply these too?
