Category: Documentation Group: 4.0 >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 8 Submitted By: Bernard Li (bernardli) >Assigned to: Bernard Li (bernardli) Summary: OPIUM -> sync_files Initial Comment: In the Installation docs, section 6.7, OPIUM is still referenced as the tool used to push password files to the client nodes, but in essence, I believe that sync_files is doing the actual work now. It seems that OPIUM is nothing more but a ghost package (it seems to still manage the ssh authorized keys?) Nevertheless, this section of the documentation needs to be updated, as the config file being referenced no longer exists. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Bernard Li (bernardli) Date: 2004-12-13 14:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=879102 - doc updated in svn trunk + 4.0-branch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jason Brechin (brechin) Date: 2004-12-09 17:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=274641 It should be clarified. sync_files is the actual utility that does the pushing. OPIUM is in charge of ssh keys (I think?), actually setting up sync_files, adding /etc/gshadow and getting sync_files into cron for example (IIRC). OPIUM used to include sync_files. When sync_files became self-sufficient and potentially useful outside of user file pushing, it was split into its own package. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109368&aid=1082560&group_id=9368 ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
