Only one will be chosen to satisfy this request; it may not be deterministic.
If one of the prereqs was already explicitly selected to be installed (within that run), then it will satisfy the request and all is copacetic. If neither prereq has /yet/ been explicitly selected for installation, one will be chosen to satisfy the prereq, this might then conflict if the other prereq is subsequently explicitly chosen (within that run). Bottom line, this could cause the reported failure. The "right" answer is obvious enough: choose the explicitly-selected prereq is such a selection was/will-be made for the run; otherwise choose preferred. So, - ask for maui only, get torque. - ask for maui and torque, get torque. - ask for maui and pbs, get pbs Problem is, I don't know how to express "preferred" other than always ask for it. OTOH, this could be simple enough outside update-rpms, "ask for torque if maui selected and neither pbs nor torque chosen". I'll look into this in more detail... -- David N.
