The biggest issue will be SIS. Bernard did something to help a 2.6-based client system along (/etc/modprobe.conf), but, as he was building an i386 cluster, the clients were happy enough during this part. IIRC, your problem will first occur when the SIS install image (/tftpboot/kernel et al) tries to boot on the box. So, I'm not sure how successful you'll be.


Bottom line, we need the current (CVS) version of SIS as a start -- that's on my shorter list now that 4.0 is out.
