The testing for ganglia is really simple, basically it does telnet localhost 8649 (the default gmond port) and checks to see if it is getting the correct # of nodes respond. On your headnode, can you type the following command: % telnet localhost 8649 | grep "<HOST NAME" | wc -l and see if you get a number? I suppose it's possibly a firewall issue?
