Category: Packages Group: 4.1 Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 6 Submitted By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Assigned to: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Summary: pvfs: c3_conf_manager script error Initial Comment: I noticed that the results of the auto generated pvfs_clients and pvfs_iod stanzas had erroneous values. Some were the results of "Warning", possibly something else. Basically, the results are not being verified as being a valid node name. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: John (muglerj) Date: 2005-02-15 13:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=505737 Ok, Thomas says he'll test this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2004-12-01 15:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 When I tried to test the PVFS pkg on the oscar-4.0beta, the image build tanked. I created a new bug: [1077037] "pvfs - dies during image build on oscar-4.0beta" And will move this bug to the 4.1 group for now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2004-11-29 15:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 This is an OPD package so it should not hold up the release. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2004-11-24 19:23 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 Time ran out today. I won't get a chance to look at this until next week. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2004-11-01 16:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 Confirm if issue or not. If issue add a doc fix somewhere. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2004-10-27 11:04 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 Need to followup/confirm this has been fixed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jeremy Enos (jenos) Date: 2004-01-08 20:59 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=270124 The reason I actually run /bin/hostname there is because I only want nodes returned that are guaranteed to be up and functional. I'll see about finding a better way. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jason Brechin (brechin) Date: 2003-12-08 12:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=274641 The problem probably lies in Jeremy's pvfs_c3_update.sh script on line 21 where it's getting the nodelist. It's doing a cexec /bin/hostname. I would recommend instead using `c3_conf_manager --list oscar_cluster`. You can process the output to get rid of extraneous whitespace, but it shouldn't be necessary. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2003-12-08 12:28 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 Attached an example with errors, "c3.conf.errors", these were based on a rather old build but the errors were the same (i didn't test again under 3.0) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jason Brechin (brechin) Date: 2003-12-08 12:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=274641 Can you give examples of this behavior? Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109368&aid=809526&group_id=9368 ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
