Summary: Architecture filter is not taken into account

Initial Comment:
The architecture filter in the config.xml files is not
taken into account.

The MySQL architecture column of the RPM table is
"NULL" instead of being "i386" or "ia64", etc.

Consequence :
All architecture have to use the same RPM name...

Closing since after database cleanup this bug will no longer
be relevant.

More detais:
the table we are talking about is 'packages_rpmlists'. It
contains almost 500 rows and the column 'architecture' has a
NULL value for all of them:

|architecture|rpm|__group|package_id|distribution_version|distribution|
...
| NULL | apache | oscar_server | 21 | 9.2
        | mandrake|
...

I'm not sure of how to proceed with this one, so I would be
glad to hear any suggestions.

Hello all,

what I understand from this quote is that when we look for
the architecture field in tables packages_filters and
packages_rpmlists the majority of them has a NULL value. So,
the field is not being filled with the correspondent package
architecture.
As I see it, this is a problem in the creation of
the MySQL tables, and I'm not sure if I should be the one to
look for it (if yes, should be me, then, please, let me know :-)
What I did, to solve the problem with tftp-hpa and
syslinux, was rebuild the rpm files from newer sources and
substitute the older packages (as Ben said yesterday, the
new syslinux is a dummy one, existing only to provide the
package). With that and no changes in config.xml I was able
to install RHEL 3 without a problem.
