Perhaps I haven't been paying attention to the whole environ debate of late (hah) -- but I see a chunk of code in the top of install_cluster that explicitly sets the environment variable OSCAR_HOME if it isn't set...

It just seems quite odd to do "make install" and then have to login / logout.
