Lombard (dnl) Summary: huge /var/log/lastlog in image Initial Comment: I've seen this problem before with smaller file sizes but this time it's really bad. In a freshly created image (RHEL3 u5 x86_64) the setup RPM generates the file /var/log/lastlog with the length of 1254130450140 bytes. The file is full of zeros and probably sparse. [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# ll /var/lib/systemimager/images/rhel3/var/log/lastlog -r-------- 1 root root 1254130450140 Aug 22 17:38 /var/lib/systemimager/images/rhel3/var/log/lastlog When deploying such an image the rsync seems to get stuck when transfering the lastlog file. Workaround: before installing the image one should create a zero length lastlog file. This should either be handled automatically or be nodeted somewhere in the docu. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: John (muglerj) Date: 2005-08-29 15:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=505737 We've hit this at oak ridge on centos 4.1 x86_64, with a 1.2T file size. Need to fix this in the image as per conference call. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Bernard Li (bernardli) Date: 2005-08-22 13:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=879102 I have not encountered this, can someone verify? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109368&aid=1266306&group_id=9368 ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Oscar-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/oscar-devel
