Hello,

Since I would like us to move quickly with this, if Fernando does not
mind, then I would recommend that we check this code in breaking
Mandriva support until Fernando has gotten this resolved. Ultimately
Fernando is the only person who develops on that platform so if it is
borked he will be the on to fix it anyway ;-)

I believe this to be true as well, but I'd like to hear it from Fernando himself... :-)

yeah, cool, go ahead, who cares if Mandrake won't work anymore.... :-)
Seriously, that's fine by me. I started to work in the support of 2006 yesterday and what
I realise is that they're using (as one would expect) 'mandriva' instead of 'mandrake' in
their release files names. I realised that there are other changes (as the mysql service
name passing from the flat 'mysql' to the most common 'mysqld' - all of that to justify
that, from now on, as we're "dealing" with a different approach, I will start
another will start another 'thread' for the Mandriva distros named 'mandriva' (for now,
only 2006) from the already usual 'mandrake', and will provide two new config files:
mandrake.pm and mandriva.pm

Cheers. --
