This is bizzare, as far as I know SystemInstaller has not changed - I
did update SystemImager, not sure if it's related though...?

Cheers,

Bernard

P.S. I think the %post section ran, just not "correctly" - maybe some
environment variables got screwed up...

Subject: RE: [Oscar-devel] pvm-3.4.5+4-2 /opt/pvm3 ownership?

Bernard,

I just checked the differences between the SRPMS for
    pvm-3.4.5+4-1 (Thomas build)
and
    pvm-3.4.5+4-2 (Erich mods + rebuild)

The %post sections are the same (unchanged). So, that makes
me wonder what
changed with SI that it didn't run the %post section? I also
don't fallow
what you're saying about 400.400 ?

I'll try to take a look at this when I get back to the office
and have a
better system to test.

Thanks,

Looks like it is because SystemInstaller stripped out the
post script and it is executed without certain variables defined:

%post
chown -R pvm:pvm $RPM_BUILD_ROOT/%{prefix}

I guess the old PVM is built with 400:400 ownership?

Cheers,

Bernard

Subject: [Oscar-devel] pvm-3.4.5+4-2 /opt/pvm3 ownership?

Hey guys:

There seems to be an issue with installing the PVM RPM in
an image in trunk. This is what my /opt looks like in my image:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] opt]# ls -l
total 44
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Nov 24 21:08 c3-4
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Nov 24 21:07 env-switcher
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 Nov 24 21:08 lam-7.0.6
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Nov 24 21:08
lam-switcher-modulefile-7.0.6
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Nov 24 21:07 modules
drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4096 Nov 24 21:07 mpich-ch_p4-gcc-1.2.7
drwxr-xr-x 23 pegasus 101 4096 Nov 24 21:07 pvm3
drwxr-xr-x 16 root root 4096 Nov 24 21:07 sge

Note the weird ownership for pvm3.

Is it just me or is this happening on other distros too?

I tested this on RHEL4u2 x86.

Thanks,

Bernard
