Hi Box, thanks very much for putting this online for testing! Looks like there is plenty of content and it could really be a very good basis for a control tool.
Here are some first sight comments: - Would it be possible to integrate this into Ganglia as a ganglia addon? This normally lives in the addons subdirectory and can be reached from the ganglia main page. - It would be good to have the user authentication _before_ accessing the general IPMI control page (once!) instead of having to athenticate with every sensitive command. I was able to change the sensors limits without authenticating, this is a bit unsafe. - Currently the display seems to be built out of a mix of commands and status information. I think it would make life easier if status info and commands would be clearly separated/sorted. For example: - the main display should show the status of the nodes (power on/off?, sel full? any thresholds exceeded?) and selection checkboxes - the select menu should contain the possible actions to be applied to the nodes, maybe sorted by: IPMI commands and configuration/monitoring actions. - Is there any chance to get the sensors descriptions into the sensor threshold setting page? Certainly these can be different from node to node, so actually setting limits to sensors is something one would like to do in parallel for many machines at once... But this is not so important right now, the power on/off/reset/id functionality is more important right now. That much for now. Thanks again for showing this and putting it to debate!
