Hi Andy:

Actually I did a test with Fedora Core 4 - if you update your headnode's kernel to the latest version, the pfilter issue will go away.

Cheers,

Bernard

Subject: [Oscar-devel] Re: RE: Re: [Oscar-users] systemimager cannot recognize SATA HD

My cluster with Intel ICH7R controller for sata drive on the compute nodes is successfully installed. The OS is FC4 and the OSCAR version is oscar-4.2.1b2r4008-SIS.tar.gz with systemimager-3.5.4 instead of 3.5.3.

The installation is straight forward as described in the manual, except:
1). I have to put an extra line in
/var/lib/systemimager/images/<imagename>/etc/systemconfig/hardware.lst
to specify the controller:

8086   27c0   scsi   ata_piix

2). Disable pfilter (/etc/init.d/pfilter stop) before imaging of the client nodes.

All the tests in <Test Cluster Setup> pass.  And now I am configur ating the details of my cluster.

Thank you very much
Andy
