Just the other day I installed a package onto our clusters here that exports
some
pbs job data into ganglia. The package is called ganglia_pbs and is available
at:

ftp://ftp.sara.nl/pub/outgoing/ganglia_pbs.tar.gz

Some of the included files were writen for an older version of the ganglia web
front end but it worked just fine with a couple of small tweeks on a
ganglia-3.0.2
installation. It is developed by Bas van der Vlies from SARA in Amsterdam.
It had a dependency on a pbs_python package also developed by SARA and
can be found at:

ftp://ftp.sara.nl/pub/outgoing/pbs_python.tar.gz

There is a single daemon process that runs on the cluster that makes calls to
gmetric
to feed the pbs job data into the ganglia data stream. Then there is set of
files that
get added into the web front end templates to allow that data to be visable
through
a special seperate link for each cluster in each cluster's main page in the
ganglia
web front end.

Anyway since OSCAR already includes ganglia and PBS/Torque I figured this would
be a good add-on to the OSCAR web portal stuff.

Bernard:
You had asked me in a previous E-mail if I would be interested in helping out
with
a OSCAR port to SuSE. I can help out with that if you still are looking for
volunteers.
