On the same token, I'd like to recommend that the SuSE port have its own
branch and all development should go in there.

Mohsen are you guys ready for this?

Cheers,

Bernard

cluster_install eth1 on suse10

Hi Mohsen,

I don't have enough information to give you more help. Do you
have the current
state of your suse port accessible somewhere such that I can
have a look?

I was asking for the systeminstaller version because I tried
to guess the SVN
revision on which your port builds (I remember Bernard asked a similar
question a while ago). You told me the systemconfigurator and
systemimager
versions, but those didn't change recently.

The next debugging step that I suggested was to add the
--verbose option to
the systemconfigurator call in your autoinstall script (located in
/var/lib/systemimager/scripts) and record the output of it
(it's at the end of
the deployment). This will give you some information on which
modules of
systemconfigurator are being called at all. You should see
there suseconfig
calling a bunch of modules, also the call to the
boot-installer (lilo/grub).

Regards,
Erich

Hello Erich,

Any thoughts about this problem? I even tried to fix the

client file

system after all, but still it won't boot and comes back

with the error

message.

Hello Erich,

Just to clarify something. All 3 created directories under
"/var/lib/systemimager/images/oscarimage" are being

populated with the

following files/directories:

*hardware/*
config
*scripts /
skel/*

*network/*
config
*if-up.d *
ifcfg.template
*if-down.d*
ifcfg-lo
ifroute-lo
*scripts*
*
scripts/
***SuSEfirewall2-oldbroadcast**
**SuSEfirewall2-open
****SuSEfirewall2-qdisc**
**SuSEfirewall2-rpcinfo
****SuSEfirewall2-showlog***
SuSEfirewall2-autointerface.sh
SuSEfirewall2-bashhash
SuSEfirewall2-batch
SuSEfirewall2-custom
*

by the way the version for systeminstaller and

systemconfigurator are

as follows:
*systemimager 3.6.2-1
systemconfigurator 2.2.2-11ef*

Mohsen

Hello Erich:

Looking into the directory /etc/sysconfig under
/var/lib/systemimager/images/oscarimage we noticed that
only the following directories have been created:

hardware
network
scripts

that sounds bad.

Which systeminstaller and systemconfigurator version do you use?

Did you try the --verbose option with systemconfigurator in the
/var/lib/systemimager/scripts/oscarimage.master script?

Then from the system I copied the missing files and

directories as well

as checked "etc/sysconfig/kernel" which had the line

INITRD_MODULES="piix processor thermal fan reiserfs"

and deploy the image. I am still getting the same type of
error message.

Well, those were my settings... Anyway, looks like the

problem is somewhere

else.

Regards,
Erich
