Can you crank up the verbosity (export OSCAR_VERBOSE=10) and post the error message again? I've seen it before, when we no longer require the "--" in the yume command, perhaps it's a similar issue?
For what it's worth, I tested trunk yesterday on RHEL4u3 x86_64 and didn't encounter any problems.
