Just to clairfy, what I mean is:

If RPMs are included in the distribution CDs, then there is no need to include them.

If RPMs are included in the EXTRA CDs, then they need to be added.

So, if the python-elementtree and python-twisted only exists in extra, then yes, please check them into the repository.

Hope this is clear.

Cheers,

Bernard

Hi Bernard,

No, I have not checked the FC3 extra CD until I needed to see if the sis extra rpms are available on the FC3 extra CD.
Yes, the two rpms (python-elementtree and python-twisted) are on the FC3 extra CD.
I am sorry that I checked in to add the two rpms before checking the extra CD.

I will remove the two rpms.
(Oops, your new mail crossed saying the we need to add the extra RPMs to the package. Should we add the extra rpms' then?)

BTW, I think I could not get the extra CD when I first time install FC3 (4 CDs').
Is it another CD? So we are expecting the OSCAR user to use the extra CD or the extra repo?

- DongInn

I had the old LAM/MPI (7.0.6) installed but the new version of lam-module (7.1.2) was installed.
So /opt/lam-7.0.6/bin/laminfo could not be found in the $PATH because lam-module was looking for /opt/lam-7.1.2/bin/laminfo.
Anyways, I recompiled LAM to get lam-oscar-7.1.2 installed and lam and pvm test worked just fine.

For APItest, the apitest rpm was not installed because it was not there for fc3.
So, I recompiled it too but it needed two other rpms (python-elementtree and python-twisted).
I recompiled two other rpms also. APItest seems to work fine now.

That error message is wrong - the key point is:

laminfo: command not found

Why is it not found? What does "which laminfo" say? Also, do you have
2 versions of LAM/MPI installed (7.0.6 and 7.1.2)? You should really
only have 7.1.2 installed.

And you might want to take a look at this:

http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/trac/oscar/wiki/BuildRPM

Also, what's up with PVM?

Cheers,

Bernard

Hi,

I think I moved too fast to post my test result.
I realized that I have not even posted the real test log so
that anyone
can not find out why it happened. :-(

[EMAIL PROTECTED] fc]# cd /home/oscartst/lam/
[EMAIL PROTECTED] lam]# cat lamtest.err

This test script will now abort.

I think LAM is properly installed and its module was also loaded. Is
there any other module (tm boot SSI module ? ) to load up?

[EMAIL PROTECTED] lam]# ll /home/oscartst/pvm/pvmtest.err

[EMAIL PROTECTED] lam]#

For APItest, it was not even installed because there was no
apitest rpm
built for FC3.
I will recompile apitest rpm from its SRPM and see what happens.

Hi,
I ran into torque dependency problem at step 3 "Install OSCAR Server
Packages.." because torque-module required
the newly complied torque and its related rpms'.
I recompiled the torque SRPM and everything seems to work

fine but I got

the test failures at
LAM/MPI and PVM.
And also I don't think that APItests has run.
