My mistake. The step I omitted is indeed in the docs, at http://oscar.openclustergroup.org/faq.development.svn-howto . I saw, and followed, the part about autogen.sh, but missed the part about perl-Qt, because--until after I ran start_over--perl-Qt was still installed from my early efforts with 4.2. > [...] > > To be on the safe side, I preinstall perl-XML-Simple and perl-Tk as > > well. OSCAR has indeed installed mysql-server-5.0.18-2.1 -- probably it got it from /tftpboot/distro/fedora-5-x86_64, since I don't think I included it in the original fc5 install. I had that in file-setup because of this message from an early run of install_cluster: WARNING: No distro-specific dir found for package oda! Continuing but distro-specific packages could be missing... It gave me no assurance that there would not, in fact, be something still missing at the end of the build. For now, I've changed file-setup so it just creates the distro-specific dir, without putting anything into it. > > With regard to scripts/start_over, I suggest putting something at the > > beginning of Detailed Cluster Installation Procedure like this: > > > > Unless this is the very first actual or partial OSCAR > > install since the installation of the operating system, > > you need to consult Section n.nn, Starting over--installing > > OSCAR again. > > > > and the script should zap a few more things, as noted above. > > The start_over script is mostly used by developers and is not supported > in any way (this may change in the future). Given that it _is_ mentioned in the docs, I'm simply suggesting that the mention would be more valuable with my proposed addition. > [...] > BTW, if you have built RPMs on Fedora Core 5 x86_64 that are not > currently in the repository, I'd appreciate it if you can send them to > me, so that I can upload them into SVN.
