Well, I have a little different situation.
To me, FC3-X86 seems to work pretty well with trunk but I have encountered the same thing at Step 8 as Raju has. I have never run "scripts/repo-update" and have never run "yum update" on my FC3.
RM_Detect messages only showed up when I re-test oscar after "start_over".
So I could get all the tests passed at the first installation on the fresh FC3. I have no idea why it happens but I just want to let you know when this happens.

To my knowledge FC3 doesn't work well if one uses the original (old) distro.
Using scripts/repo-update to update the /tftpboot/distro/fedora-3-i386
repository, then updating the head node and only then starting with the
install improved solved a lot of problems for me. Head node distro and the
distro repository must be in sync!

Anyway the problem described by Raju looks like it could be something else...
